These Oreo Ice Cream Sandwiches are going viral on Tik Tok and for good reason! This dairy dessert is delicious and easy to make. An Oreo crust gets filled with an easy, no churn, homemade Oreo ice cream. A drizzle of cookies and cream candy across the top and you have the best homemade ice cream sandwiches.

Ingredients

  • 50 oreo cookies (can use gluten free, and any flavor of Oreo)
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cookies and cream candy bars

Instructions

    1. Line a 9x9 square pan with parchment paper and set aside.
    2. Use a food processor to finely crush the cookies.
    3. Set aside ½ cup of cookies crumbs.
    4. In a medium bowl combine the remaining oreo crumbs with the melted butter.
    5. Add half of the cookie mixture to the bottom of your prepared pan.
    6. Spread out and pat down evenly.
    7. Place the pan into the freezer while you prepare the ice cream.
    8. In a large mixing bowl using an electric mixer whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
    9. Add the sweetened condensed milk to the whipped cream until combined.
    10. Stir in the ½ cup of reserved cookie crumbs.
    11. Pour the ice cream mixture onto the crust and smooth out.
    12. Freeze for 2 hours.
    13. Spread the remaining oreo crust mixture on top of the ice cream layer gently.
    14. Freeze again for at least 6 hours or overnight.
    15. When ready to serve lift out of pan and slice into 8 slices.
    16. In a small microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals melt the cookies and cream candy bars.
    17. Drizzle over the sliced bars.
    18. If not serving right away, you can wrap each sandwich individually in plastic wrap once set for convenient storage and to preserve their freshness.
    19. Serve!

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in freezer for up to 2 weeks.
  • You can use any flavor Oreos you like.
  • Crumbs on top can have more oreo cookie pieces mixed info a little extra crunch and texture.
  • Allergen information: oreos are vegan, but the regular ones do contain gluten and soy. Swap gluten-free cookies if preferred and use coconut or other plant based products for dairy free. While I haven't tried it plant based, I am pretty sure it would still taste amazing. Guar gum in canned coconut cream should make the ice cream thick enough for these sandwiches.
