The Year in Review!

2011.  A lot of good things happened to our family in 2011.  Likewise, a lot of not so great things happened in 2011.  I can't believe that it has almost been a year since we resigned our positions as houseparents at the children's home.  In some ways, it seems like just yesterday that we were there, but in other ways, it seems like it was YEARS ago.  We have so many wonderful memories that we will cherish always from our time there.

2011 was also the year that our boss from the children's home, Danny, died in a tragic accident.  It's very strange because I still can see his face and remember the way he talked in my mind.  We miss him and I know his precious family and all his many friends miss him dearly, as well.

We moved in with my parents for 3+ months this year.  We had no idea what life had in store for us, but we were blessed enough to get to spend quality time with my parents, and have a little extra help with our 2 year old Captain Fussybuckets and itty bitty Baby D.  Those are memories we will also always cherish!

In June, we all moved to our current town and we just love it here.  Daddy is a great youth and family minister at our church (or at least I think so!) and we have made so many wonderful friendships.  The opportunities that we've had individually and as a family are numerous.  We are very blessed and are so very happy to be here.

There are many other highs and lows from the year, but I'll spare you the details.  Sicknesses, let downs, failures and then on the other hand, successes, special times with friends and families, birthdays, and victories are all reasons to celebrate as 2011 comes to a close.  I'm thankful that God has given us 2011.  He has been good to us!

May you have a SAFE and JOYOUS New Year's Eve and a TERRIFIC 2012!
